Updates.

I finished my page on the Phoenicians. I know; this page hasn't been updated for a while cuz I've been playing Starcraft most of the time and updating that page.

Cheat Codes.

You might be wondering why I don't have cheat codes here. I feel that cheat codes are lame and useless in multiplayer games (btw, my page is dedicated to multiplayer.) However, you can check entry #40 in my guestbook for the codes. :)

Updates??

If you've been coming here periodically, then you probably noticed that I haven't updated very often now. First of all, I've been fairly busy now in school. Secondly, the left over free time I have during the weekends are being used up for Starcraft. I'm not saying that AOE sucks now, but I'm more addicted to Starcraft than AOE now. AOE is still a good game, and I still want to come back to it. I'm hoping that most of the bugs in AOE will be fixed very soon and it'll make the game more enjoyable. I really hope that I can at least finish the tribes part of my Strategy page in the near future.

Bronze Time.

Haha! Because of the bug, I've been spending more time practicing my bronze time with the computer than playing multiplayer. I can bronze in 15 minutes with the Minoans. That's right; almost any above-average player can bronze in 15 with either Assyrian or Yamato.

Temporary Goodbye to AOE.

A lot of AOE players probably have discovered this bug and are resorting to it to win games and to brag about victories. This is something I really detest; enough for me to leave AOE temporarily. However, this doesn't mean that I won't be updating my AOE page!!! In fact, I might be updating my AOE page even more cuz I won't be using my free time to play as much. Ensemble Studios are currently working on an AOE patch that will fix this bug, and once the patch is out, I'll be playing a lot more AOE. For right now, it's a good time to really tune in on my page. :)

Bug.

A new bug has been discovered in AOE. If a game of multiplayer AOE is lagging, click on an unfinished building in which no workers have even begun building it but it's just laid there. Then click on Cancel when the game isn't progressing due to the lag. Hit Cancel as many time as you can. Every time you hit cancel, you gain the amount of resources that the building cost.

I do not recommend using this bug because it is simply cheating. However, you should watch out for people who are trying to use this bug. Also, I guess it's ok to use the bug in a team game where several of your teammates have dropped out, or if the people on your team are newbies and the people on the other team are very experienced. It might still be wrong to use it in these situations, but it's really temping to do so.

ISPs.

I changed my ISP from www.ibm.net to a local provider, www.tir.com. IBM.NET was gonna charge $1.95 for every hour after your 100th hour within a month!!! This local provider is cheap and it doesn't have such limitations. However, I had to configure my Dial-Up Networking software and Win95 TCP/IP configurations to get more out of my connection since it seemed to be slightly slower here than at IBM.NET. If you're interested in a new ISP and you live in Southeast Michigan, I suggest that you check it out.

AOE Mistake??

I was reading Shaitan's AOE page when I came across this. They said that the Phoenician tribe has wood bonuses. That means a Phoenician tribe can gather wood faster than any other tribe. However, this was not mentioned in the AOE manual. I don't know if this is true, but if I have some time, I'll play Phoenician and see.

Scanner.

After 2 hours of work, I finally got the scanner my parents gave me for my birthday working. I almost considered returning it cuz it would persistantly refuse to work. :)

I didn't have time to go through all of the sites and come up with such fancy descriptions. Trust me, this'll be done sooner or later. (I always tend to say that I will update and a month later, I still haven't.) :)

More Updates?

I will or will not be updating this week depending on how busy I am. I havn't played a lot of AOE cuz I had other things to do (which I don't feel like describing right now though). I'm trying to finish my pages on the Tribes and the Ages. I might make a strategy page on the Units.

I've added some background MIDI music for you to listen. You can listen even if you go to another page cuz there's another popup window for it. If you don't want the music, then close the popup window.

AOE Haters??

Please, for god's sake, don't sign my guestbook just to say AOE sucks or something. I did not make the game. If you think it sucks, please complain with Ensemble Studios and tell them why the game sucks. Hopefully, your opinion may even give them correct feedback and apply it to AOE2 so AOE2 will be much better.

If you submit your AOE page, I'll not only add a link to it, but I'll also mention it in the AOE Page of the Moment portion until the next AOE link submitted is added. This will encourage people to submit links to me. I know; it's sometimes unfair that one person's site gets put up here longer than others but I can't help it.

Wow!! Pheew! That was the busiest weekend. Sorry if you were checking for updates; I was too busy for them. By the way, I'll have more updates coming up; you can obviously see that I did not announce many updates to my page yet.

The AOE vs. War2 debate is really heating up!! I've put up an extra page dedicating to how other people feel about this debate. This will be especially helpful if you're still playing War2 :)

Strategies on the Babylonian tribe are here!! Winter Break is also here so I can do many more updates. Also, I started another page in my Strategies section : The Ages. I'll have a lot of time to play AOE during the Winter Break so I'll be updating this page frequently. :)

More Strategies!! I've started some strategies on the tribes in AOE. So far, I have the Assyrians done, but there's still 11 left to go.
