Make Starcraft Run Faster.
This section deals with how a low-end PC user can still enjoy Starcraft. If you're computer is able to run Starcraft but it's no better than a P100 with 24MB RAM and 8X CD-ROM, then this section is for you.
- Close down all unnecessay programs before launching Starcraft.
- Go to My Computer --> Properties --> Performance --> File System. Set the Typical Role of Machine to Network Server (more than 16MB RAM) and make sure the other buffer setting is MAXed out.
- FreeMem, a Windows memory optimizing program, will help you get the most outta your computer's physical memory. You should definitely run this program after Windows kinda crashed but you didn't have to restart your computer.
- Get CD-Quick from my Downloads page to optimize your CD-ROM drive. If you play Starcraft a lot and you frequently exit and re-launch it, then you'll see a tremendous improvement in load times. Plus, the CD-ROM is required for music during the game (not if you use CD-Quick cuz that music data from the CD-ROM would be cached right on your hard drive.)
