Long-Term Plans.

Stone Age.

Late in the Stone Age, some people like to build a dock and a few fishing ships to gather additional food. This is a good strategy to pull with the 30% faster ships.

Tool Age.

The 30% faster ships will not help your attacking ships, but it'll help your ships that cannot attack. If some enemy ship comes and attacks your fishing ships, you can retreat at a higher speed. Also, you will be able to use transports more effectively. Since they're faster, they will better survive when running away from warships.

Bronze Age.

Try to build an army of mostly Hoplites. You do not get any good archers, so if someone else is going ALL Hoplites and attack you, you're dead. However, if you go all Hoplites and the other the enemy does too, then you should be able to defeat those Hoplites cuz your Hoplites are faster and can gang up and concentrate on the enemy units faster. Going to Iron would be a pretty high priority right now since you'll get much better units there.

Iron Age.

Upgrade immediately to Phanlanx and get the Aristocracy upgrade in the Gov't Center. Before you get centurions, make sure you've gotten ALL upgrades that affect Academy Units. They are much cheaper and yield faster effects. After the Aristocracy upgrade, your Academy Units will not be much slower than Calvary!!! Once you have Centurions, it'll be time to really rock!! These Centurions can really chase down elephants, and they do OK against Catapults, Ballista, Archers, and Priests. They can just about stand up to anything although they do exceptional only against Elephants, Barracks Infantry, and obsolete military units.

Strong Against :

Persian, Choson, Minoan.

Weak Against :

Assyrian, Hittite, Shang.

Good Allies With :

Shang, Assyrian, Minoan.

Overall.

Greek Academy units have the speed that allows such unit with great strength to accomplish what the Infantry of other tribes cannot accomplish. This is obviously the best tribe for Academy unit lovers.
